FEELING FESTIVE...

This is a photo of me on my 21st birthday i had my hair styled at YAZZ in Rawdon, I've been going to the same hairdressers for years and i love the guys at Yazz! I wore carvela diamante bow shoes in a blush colour, the dress is from Aqua Couture boutique in Leeds. Aqua is one of my favourite stores they always have great flattering upto date dresses.

This is my FIRST christmas tree!
Ive decorated it really colourful and funky
this was to coordinate with the rest of my flat
which is quite bright!
I'm wearing flannel boyfriend shirt from Jack wills along with the black and polka dot bow in my hair, and Jack Wills jeans.
Recently I went on 'THE HEADINGLEY MILE'
Me and my friends do this every year
I decided to go as a candy cane!
The dress is an old dress from JackWills that I
altered the length of added wire and made an underskirt to add volume
The bow headband again is from JackWills. The candy canes i sewed on
not many left on this morning though! Cable knit tights from Next.

This is me trusty cape coat from TOPSHOP.
Love this coat i actually bought it last year and
they have brought the same line out this year, so was
definitely a good buy! wearing leather leggings from
TOPSHOP & chiffon top from AllSaints.
Necklace form Primark and bag is a military LUELLA <3

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD READY TO WEAR SPRING SUMMER '12

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD manages to make each of her fashion shows a new chapter in her multiple planet-saving manifestos and today’s was no different.
“The Family Tree starts with the marriage of Gaia the Earth Mother and Science. They have two children so we have two branches. The child of the right hand branch is Quantity and it’s what happens when Progress marries Quantity. They produce unlimited Profit and unlimited Consumption and lead to disaster. This is our world.”
Despite her impassioned politics, however, Westwood has never lost her enthusiasm for fashion – her shows in Paris a smorgasbord of fabrics and colours, ideas and shapes that attest to her lifelong career. She simply doesn’t run out of ideas.

MY FAVOURITE VIVIENNE WESTWOOD LOOK...

Vivienne Westwood is one of my favourite designers and I love how she presents her work on the catwalk. It is always different but still recognisably VW.

This was my favourite look from her Ready to wear line for s/s '12.

One thing I love about Vivienne Westwood is that she has stayed true to her roots and is constantly producing edgy punk/rock like clothing, these outfits are not for the faint hearted but for people who want to push boudaries with fashion and really create a style that is a statement.

STRANGE HOW YOU START TO LIKE THINGS ONCE YOU START GRASPING THE TECHNIQUE. NOT PERFECT BUT A GREAT IMPROVEMENT FOR ME :)

carpe noctum...

carpe noctem...

The sculpture project was quite exciting for me and was something new.  Sculpture is not something I have ever looked at or made, so I did feel like this would be a challenge for me.  I did miss the trip to the sculpture park the first week due to a family member falling ill, I did feel like this would put me at a disadvantage and tried to make a dress that sculpturally stood out and had a strong meaning and structure.
One of the first lessons I had with Julie we made a paper dress structure in around 20minutes.  This initial paper dress inspired my final piece.  I feel that my design came from shapes and I built my dress around the shapes and the way they enhanced and exaggerated the female figure

my 'carpe noctum' lady of the night dress.

Inspired from Winter nights...

Finished dress.... made from ablack denim fabric full embellished with sequins and glitter...
leather straps, leading to shoulder pads, the bodice is made up of panels of stiffened sequin material, painted panels of my own photoshopped image of a friend, the panels also have self made velvet devore with a star pattern on, and hand painted in water colour.

The back of the dress is backless and has leather tassles coming from one side of the dress diagonally to the dart points in the lower dress.  The panels on the dress conceal a zip from the hip to the top of the bodice.
